About Us

Annette Lane L. AcI started receiving acupuncture treatments in 1992. I was preparing for surgery and kept catching colds and upper respiratory and sinus infections. After my first treatment I felt so great, my mood was lifted and I had so much energy. Through consistent treatments I stopped getting sick and felt so much better. Post surgery I continued receiving treatments to help with the healing process and was amazed at how much it helped. It was during my recovery that I decided I wanted to become an acupuncturist so I could help people as much as I had been.

I graduated from the Maryland Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine in Bethesda in 1998 and became the 53rd licensed acupuncturist in Virginia. I have furthered my education including receiving a certification in Toyo Hari—a Japanese Style of Acupuncture and extensive continuing education seminars.

Since the beginning, I have been so honored to be a part of the healing process for my patients. As one of my teachers told us, when you stop seeing miracles its time to do something else. I still see miracles and really love what I do.

My most favorite part is having a patient come in stressed from their condition or life, relax during the treatment and maybe fall asleep, and leave more peaceful with a smile on their face. An amazing transformation after an hour. And as it is said, you can talk the talk, but do you walk the walk.

In that vein and through self interest, I continue to look after my own well being. I work at exercising regularly, eating well and managing my stress. I get chiropractic adjustments, massages and acupuncture, as I need them. I have been meditating and doing yoga for more than 20 years. And I have to admit I enjoy being outdoors walking, hiking or riding my bike.
